I have never paid for a dress and I have been in about 5 weddings. If I was having a regular wedding (which I am not) I would NEVER ask them to pay for their dresses. I asked them to be a part of the wedding, then why is it their responsibility to shell out hundreds of dollars. You can't say no to your best friend when they ask you to be in their wedding. So why give them the stress of having to come up with the money. I think if you want them to be in your wedding, then it is your responsibility to pay for the outfit YOU want them to wear.

Yes the maids of honors should. But only a little bit, like the bridesmaids have a yellow dress with blue accents, the maids of honors should have blue dress with yellow accents. Just a suggestion. Just made up colors. It's okay a lot of people get confused when it comes to weddings. I'm not married, and not even old enough to get married and yet I know so much.

I think the bridesmaids should pay. Of course I also think they should be allowed to choose the dress too. As long as its an acceptable style, and matching in the color scheme. I was my sister's maid of honor, and considering I have an odd body type, that made things much easier for both of us, I showed her the ones I liked and could get in and she chose the one she liked best.

This is a call by the bride. If she feels like that her party should be paying then she tells them up front so that her party can make the decision if they want to pay for them or if she needs to find someone else.

i think that the bride should pay.i wouldnt care but ive been in a few weddings where the dresses cost a good amount of money and its not like im ever gonna wear them again.that or when the bride asks you to be in the wedding she should say up front how much the dress is gonna be and even offer to pay some of it.then yoiu have the choise to decline if you wish.

The bridesmaids pay for their own, but only if it is a modest cost (under 100). If over, and the bride is adamant on them wearing a particular dress, let her pay.

The bridesmaids should pay for their own dresses! Unless of course that is the "gift" that the bride has chosen to give her bridesmaids....but that can be a very expensive gift!

The Maid-of-Honor and Bridesmaids all pay for their own dresses. It is similar to how the Best Man and Groomsmen all pay for their own tuxedo rentals.
