I have a refund coming to me with 8-13 days (it's already been 10) but a co-worker told me that I won't get my money deposited in my bank until next Tuesday because that's the only day the IRS does that.

No. The IRS will direct deposit or mail your refund on a Friday.
The refund cycle dates are all Fridays.

They release the money on Thursdays. If you used a tax professional or online program, the money usually goes through their account first, so it can take until Friday. They say Tuesday on the website because they do not want a million people calling them on Friday for a bank delay.
