My left leg and calf is stiff as a board. I am not in pain though. Will this go away itself or should I see a doctor? Never hurt my back before.

Muscles, pain and referred pain are covered in The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Davies. Teaches you how to help yourself.
Household muscle relaxers are molasses (a swig or two) or bananas.
The knots (where it hurts most) in the muscles are called trigger points, that is where you want to rub with the length of the muscle 6-12 times per session, up to 6 times a day with the goal of getting them to loosen up.
A massage therapist is a good stop to help the muscles in the back that can create problems in other places in the body.

possibly you might have pinched a nerve or you did do some damage to your back. see a m.d if it doesnt go away. possibly he will send you for a MRI of your back. stop lifting weights until you find out what is wrong before you do more damage to your back.

may get better, but not go away. I strongly recommend a chiropractor. You have a pinched nerve likely caused by subluxation -- a vertebra out of place so the nerve is impinged.
