eBay is a safe as Amazon as Tucows as MySpace....
No eCommerce site is 100% safe. But as an Internet auction site, I trust it implicitly, as I also do business here and protect myself by using common sense when dealing online with my customers and fellow sellers.

I pay and transfer money by using PayPal. I have NEVER had any serious problems by using this eBay company that was not able to be worked out promptly and efficiently. I have a few PayPal accounts that I use and have been doing business for the past six years with them.

That said. Make very sure of the return policy - get specifics in writing if it only says in the Item Description "Returns Accepted" - have them e-mail it to you - does it cover re-shipping costs, restocking fees, is one even in existance? Does the seller's Feedback reflect a good trading reputation? Is it over 98% with not too many negatives, and, if there are - check out the comments of both parties responses.

While there is a Buyer Protection Plan involved with eBay, make sure that the seller accepts PayPal payments which will allow you THEIR Buyer Protection Plan as well - up to $2000.00 in some cases.

What you might want to do is have them send you fabric swatches to insure that the fabric, color, texture matches your current decor, atmosphere, esthetics, etc. Before you bid/or order it. Most reputable furniture stores/online sellers will gladly do this for you!

Here is a great example:

As well as the previous posters' advice about feedback, one thing you might consider doing on Ebay is an advanced search. It will allow you to search for ebay auctions in your area. This way, you could look at the furniture before buying. It sure would be a nightmare to have to ship back a piece of furniture that was damaged or just not quite right.

However, the amount of auctions found will drop quite a bit, but might be a start. This is how I bought my monitor on Ebay.

Ebay is safe as long as you are dealing with someone with a good feedback rating. Also look for the number of transactions the person/business has carried out and any negative feedback, if any. Good Luck!

in case you pick a mattress and no dwelling room somewhat of a futon or pullout settee, you'll get an inexpensive set of mattress/field springs from a producer that has their personal keep, somewhat of reckoning on the double-padded mattress set that continually runs over $1000.00. you may %. up a mattress/field spring set for $2 hundred-$three hundred, and they have the rail set with casters on the bottom in case your studio has tile or hardwood, to make it more convenient to flow and sparkling less than. in case you pick a futon and no mattress room seem interior the studio, Walmart has one it really is alright to sleep on and that i imagine that is round $250 or so, yet you should actually positioned extra padding (a blanket or 2) less than the futon mattress to no longer experience the framing for the mattress. in case you pick a settee and no mattress room (each and every from time to time the settee finally ends up extra tender to sleep on than the mattress), attempt enormous a lot if that is on your section. they have couches for $three hundred.00, and they sit down ok and are alright to very last 10-15 years if necessary. in case you do not have a huge a lot, there should be yet another liquidator keep that has furniture lines (maximum are both man made completely for the liquidator, or the liquidator assumes a deleted inventory from an autonomous producer). Jennifer Convertibles has a sturdy fee on their pullout sofas, yet may no longer be on your section. For the perfect deal, although, you pick to envision the classifieds interior the Sunday paper to seem for furniture being bought through persons. each and every from time to time they have the furniture for a year or so, and redecorate or settle on they only don't love what they have bought, and could get rid of it for only about no longer some thing to make room for his or her next purchase. you may tell through the domicile of the seller, through the seller, and frequently even through the community (looking on your project) the wide-spread of and care given to a used piece of furniture. best of luck!

Ebay is pretty safe and I highly recommend it. Just be sure to, before ordering, check the rating of the person you're buying from or selling to just to make sure you're not getting into anything shady.

remember one thing.

if you buy furniture and are unhappy with it, you pay to ship it back to the seller and you will not be refunded the original shipping costs to you.

that is a lot of money to be out of.

i would never do it.

Check out the sellers rating. If their rating is high its safe to go ahead and buy it.
