I would ask for a second opinion, back in November 2003 my GP didn't know what was wrong with me or he didn't think there was anything wrong but I knew there was, I finally got them to believe me in May 2004 when I was very ill and a blood test finally came back showing something was wrong. I was very angry at the time once i was told what was wrong, but the consultant also told me that my condition doesn't show up in any test until a lot later. I am not trying to worry you but if you ask another GP they may be able to see something but also it may take a while for your daughters symptoms to show through on any test she may be having done. Also if you have been seeing the same GP about your daughter you could go back and say that you wish to be referred to your local hospital as you both feel there is something not right, if it is worrying you. Whatever you decided I hope everything works out ok for your daughter.

Hello gill, have you thought about researching the symptoms your daughter's experiencing on the net so that when you go back to see a different doctor you will have more information and you can discuss what you've found with your daughter as well...i just type in what I'm feeling and usually find a lot of help...
Please don't leave it to long, the sooner you get help the better for all concerned...all the best...

Sometimes you have to do the research yourself on the symptoms and goes to the doctors armed with some background and useful questions. Doctors do not have more than a few minutes to see you and that's usually not enough to diagnose something less common. It happened to my dad, the hospital put him in physical therapy and pain-killers. I spent my time asking very detailed questions not only about the symptoms. Upon my suspicion of what else he may have, I told him to request a special test they don't normally perform. It turned out he needed a surgery and as soon as it's over, he felt almost pain-free the day after. So the moral is, do your homework. Nobody knows more and care more about you and your family than yourself. Good luck.

If you are in the UK - you will have to be persistent and lay it on thick - it's the only way that you get listened to. Wrong but that's how it is. Insist on being referred - they cannot say no. Alternatively, could you afford to pay for a private consultation - often not as expensive as you may think. If there is a diagnosis, you can get treatment on the NHS. I have done this - they way I look at it is, if it was your car breaking down, you would pay for that without thinking about it - health is the most important thing.

well you didn't say what the symptoms are, so off hand, i would say either your not giving him all of the information he needs, or he isn't listen to them and you need to see someone else
either way, start keeping a log of the day/time and each problems she is having, it will help this or the next doctor figure out what the problem is

Without more details about your daughter's symptoms it's harder to answer. Never forget that doctors are PRACTICING MEDICINE.
Clearly you are concerned, go to a specialist for another opinion.

How old is your daughter and what are the symptoms?
Are you a hypochondriac by proxy?

It would rather depend on what the symptoms are, however, some dietary advice may help if you can be more speciific.
