Yesterday a young woman comes home from work on her lunch break and finds a big, angry man trying to burst down her doors. The babysitter and the young woman's child were upstairs scared, the babysitter already called the cops; the cops arrived late, mind you. The babysittrer hears screams- It is the young mother outside. The young mother defends herself from this dude because he wouldn't let her inside Her own home, he also bites her hand. Guess who went to jail? The young mother was arrested. Ladies and gentlemen, I was the babysitter that day, and the baby was my neice, the young mother is my sister. The guy(aggressor?) was the baby's father. The police said "the attacker's face looked the worst" so now my sister has bills and work and a court date to worry over. The Virginia Commonwealth for you? Does this scene sound strange to you? What would you do? Please respond, I will appreciate it.

Thanx guys, I'd also like to add that I did report what happened and unfortunately all I saw was the biting episode. He woouldn't let go! My father showed up before the cops, and beat the punk down to the ground. Unfotunately...my father was the only one the cops saw swinging...this situation is messed up. It makes me furious that this guy is home chillin' while his baby's mother is trying to earn a decent living and move on!

I'd like to say that I did not know what happened outside. I know I heard my sister screaming. And the baby's father Does Not Live There! There is a restraining order against him!

***Plehaq** I hope you aren't a father. Don't let no man put your child's hands in his mouth. I guarantee You will snap if you have any human emotion at all.

You must be in California.

I would file a complaint as a eye witness with the police department. This is important and it is your right. This will help your sister's case. You do not need to settle with the DA. If they pressure you I would stand firm and hold your ground. I am sure the DA will drop the case. I think an unlawful arrest suit can help convince the DA if you can afford it.

These guys can be really rabid.

Well if he's the dad it must also be his house so why wasn't he able to come in? That's probably why he was trying to break the door. Plus if you were inside how can you know what happened outside?

What seems starnge to me is your story and how you seem to place blame without knowledge of what truly happened.

By ''would would you do?'' I'm assuming you mean if I were you. So if I was you I'd just be happy I got my pay and didn't get hurt.

I know you're not gona give me best answer for this and I'm gona get a few thumbs down I'm just answering all your questions.

EDIT***********************************************

How about the guy charges your dad with assault?

Well since he didn't leave there he had no right to do what he did. If he had a restraining order prior to the incident he will go to jail most likely AND he won't be able to charge anyone with assault.

You do realize that our police are just about the dumbest kids
on the block.....The mean dumb bully at school is the one that
becomes the cop because he can continue to abuse people and
does not have to think too much...
And the abuse continues...
