My sons birthday is the 12th and he wants me to make those cupcakes that you bake in ice cream cones for his class, but I'm thinking to myself, how the heck am I going to get 25 of them to school??? They have to stand upright without touching or falling over or they'll get all messed up. Any ideas on how I'd do this?
I appreciate any ideas =)

Thanks!!
Tori

Measure the circumference of the bottom of the icecream cone and trace 25 of the circles onto the bottom of a deep (think 3+ inches) cardboard shirt box. Cut out the circles with an exacto knife or box cutter to make sure they stay uniform. Place the icecream cones into the circles (test one unbaked one first to make sure it fits snugly - this also makes for an excellent cooling rack.) For the drive over, place the box on top of a cookie sheet (the kind with slightly upturned edges) so it will not move around. Place toothpicks in the tops of the cupcakes to prevent plastic wrap from sticking to the frosting (sometimes tented aluminum foil works even better since it will stand up on its own.) Have someone go with you and sit in the passenger's seat to hold it steady.

If you had the time, you could frost them when you got to the school. To do this super fast, use a pastry bag and pipe the frosting on with a thick tip. (I've done this and frosted a hundred+ cupcakes in under 30 minutes.)

If they are baked in sugarcones (or waffle) then try getting a large flat box, about the same heighth as the whole cupcake & cone, then having an insert with holes in it for the cones to rest in (like a holder)

If they are regular cones with the flat bottom, then use the cardboard inserts like used for separating glasses or other breakables (looks like a grid). I hope this helps!

I just searched on realsimple dot com, and they said there is a cupcake transporter with a handle you can buy at Walmart for $15. I couldn't find any nifty ideas though on that website or marthastewart dot com. Usually one of these sites has some clever idea, but not this time. Good luck!

Go to the liquor store and ask for beer flats, the small shallow boxes that 4 six packs of bottles come in. If you need to cover them for transport, cut another beer flat in half, tuck each half on opposite sides of the box and then tent with foil.

You have to put them in shirt boxes (the white boxes you give at christmas time), Put something here and there in the boxes so they can't be smushed down....(paper towel cardboard tubes cut in 4ths.

ask a restaurant or bar if you can have an empty glassware box. the boxes have dividers inside. there are lots of different size boxes for different glasses. bet you will find one that's perfect for you.
