I have seen more reasoned responses from atheists to Christian question than I have from Christians to atheist questions.
I think that this is due to a different mindset. Atheists believe that reason can convince people of a position. Christians believe that god will make people believe and that invoking his name, his son's name, or his book is sufficient.

I'm a Deist (Believe in the existence of a Deity), but absolutely not a Xian. I do ponder A LOT about things I don't agree with.

I think Atheists are more likely to do "the research" themselves even on the matters upon which they agree..
Having studied history I understand that history was re-written many times over by who ever conquered who.
I understand there was more than one virgin birth.
More than one throne of judgment. More than one ressurection.Accurate astronomical information existed 6,000 years ago. It would be simpler if people just told the truth...ah...but the ego!

That's a good question. To be perfectly honest, I don't know. I'd like to say yes, but I can't say that with absolute certainty. I think it depends more upon the individual and whether he or she is looking for the truth or something to back up what they already believe to be true.

When you don't accept anything as an automatic truth based on scripture, you're more open to your own fallibility. Granted some of us are quite stubborn, but I think there are certain perspectives that a religious person could not in good faith be open to.

I think that anybody that does not agree with something will take a moment to think about it before giving a response.

I question everything and research everything. Whether I agree with it has nothing to do with it. I often change my views after research.
