I've found some cute boutiques wandering up and down Rue de Rennes. If you go to the back (or the top floor), that's where they have their sales. It's "old" fashion, but we're talking about Paris. It's just barely "out," and it'll still be fabulous back at home where they won't get the latest fashion memo for another couple of months. Also, the stores on the back streets around the southern end of metro line four seem to have a lot of street and window sales.

I would check out Zara or Mango. Also, if you go to Boulogne-Billancourt, its the second to the last stop on the Metro 9 (Marcel Sembat) there are several colleges and a mall along with some interesting inexpensive stores and restaurants. I

If you are to buy clothes, go to the 13th district in Paris (Sentier), where you can find excellent deals.
