Well, the Diocese of New York of the Protestant Episcopal Church (since the 2006 year end statements are not completed yet) in 2005 had $44,919,936 in assets on their balance sheet (including investments at $29.5 million and cash in hand of $2.5 million) with liabilities of $2 million.
They had gross revenue in 2005 of $13 million, up from the $11 million the prior year. With overall net revenue of $1.8 million in 2005, compared to $1.1 million in 2004.
Now imagine that across all the Diocese around the globe. It is no different in any other religion, just a cash cow. That is what religion did over the prior periods, just make money, money, money. Sure they will show you the way to heaven, at $100 donations at a time. That is evil and greed.

As a group,the achhivements of my religion have included
The beginnings of hospitals;
The beginnings of schools, universities and general public education;
Numerous charitable institutions
The inspiration for many world famous art works, and musical compositions.
As individuals,adherents of my religion have contributed greatly to the world.These people include:Isaac Newton, Neils Bohr, Louis Pasteur, Galileo Galilei, Johannes Kepler, Nicolaus Copernicus, Michael Faraday, James Clerk Maxwell, Werner Heisenberg, Erwin Schrodinger, Andreas Vesalius, Tycho Brahe, Max Planck, Enrico Fermi, Arthur Eddington, William Harvey, Carl Gauss, John von Neumann, Gregor Mendel, John Dalton, and Alexander Fleming.
On the bad side,the Roman Catholic Church,(which I am not a member of,but they are considered Christian) were participants in the Inquisition (which killed around 3000) and the Crusades,which were a response to centuries of Muslim conquest and oppression.Unfortunately,most people don't know that Muslims were crusading aginst Christians far before the Roman Catholic Church defended itself and fought the Muslims.A lot of people seem to think that the RCC were aggressos in the whole debacle,but they weren't.
Anyway,I'm a Baptist Christian.Baptists have never started a war,fought aginst other religions,or forced anyone to convert.

We the muslims have advanced the science of this world.
Chemistry, Geography, Biology, Astronomy and many others in the fields of science. Islam scholars had modernize some of it. Althought I don't remember the scholars names because I never paid any attention in class :P
You can search it on the net though, like the origin of chemistry. It's actually from the arabic word Al-Kimiya, which is of course were introduced by muslim scholars.
Islam also united some people in some British colonies 50 years ago like my country, and eventually we became a free indipendant country.

It's fairly hard for a religion to accomplish anything on its own and we haven't been around for 2000 years.
Nevertheless, my religion was instrumental in the civil rights movement.
We were instrumental as well in the anti war movement (Vietnam).
We have been strong proponents for individual rights. Gay people have been getting married in our churches for decades. (Not legally recognized until recently, but they have never been turned away.)
We fight poverty and disease all over the world without ever asking anyone to listen to a sermon or convert.
We helped found this country (and not as a Christian nation)
We have never, ever started or encouraged a war. We have never killed anyone in the name of God or anyone else.
We fight discrimination against anyone for any reason. We teach and practice tolerance.
We follow the good teachings of Jesus, Gandhi and others.
It's a start.

I haven't been around for 2,000 years. I consider my 'group' to be the church that I go to, since you consider Christians one 'group'. Your parameters, not mine. It is interesting though, how you invited hateful remarks from everyone about everyone else right after saying you were sick of hearing it. Hmmm........... OK. My 'group', year after year supports the local Rescue Mission with not only money, but with donated time, as well. Time spreading the good news of Jesus Christ and His saving grace. With food. And with money that is used to keep the lights on, etc. and supply clothes and other things that people need. We support halfway houses that house, feed and clothe battered women, children and families. We have missions locally that go into the prisons and counsel convicted people, and try to turn them around, and be prepared for a productive and fruitful life when they get out. A life that looks to God for guidance and balance in everyday living. We send missionaries all over the world to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ and lead people to a Holy Ghost filled life, so that they go on and spread the gospel to others. My 'group' does a lot to serve people and God each day. We do it with a glad heart. We do it to further glorify God. So for all of you that think that pastors 'get rich' from the collections of a church, think again. Our church has about 300 people, and we do a lot for the community that we live in, as well as for people that we have never met.

Mine generally got on with trying to survive - not bothering or trying to convert anyone and hoping they wouldn't be killed. They also tried to take care of the earth while most of the others were stripping it. No major accomplishment other that we are still here still trying to preserve what we have - Oh year and its not legal to kill us in most places in the west anymore.
You might not think that's much but I think its fab!
PS guess the faith

An atheist has never started a war based upon his religious beleifs. Atheists are responsible for the invention of antibiotics (thanks Marie Curie), for space travel and for quantum physics (Dr. S. Hawking.)
And we havent been around 2000 years either...only a few hundred. Before then, when the world was still ruled by religion and it was the Dark Ages, everyone either beleived in God or fake beleifs so as to not end up a victim of the Church...
