Just select the cell after the end of the row, then hit the summation symbol (which looks like th Greek letter S or somewhat similar to a big E) in the tool bar (this will automatically add a formula to calculate the sum of the fields before it). Check to make sure the cells are specified correctly for the ones you want to add up and just hit 'Enter'. You can also manually add a formula and select from the predefined formula options (sum as Sum, Average, etc.) in a similar way - just hit the formula button (or select the down arrow next to the summation button).

Add them up! Kidding. Click on the cell directly to the right of the last filled cell that you would like to sum. Click on the sum button and it should automatically choose the previous records in the row. If it doesn't, you can enter those manually. Alternatively, say for example you have values that you'd like to sum in cells A1-C1. You can click in the next record in the row (D1) and type =SUM(A1:C1) in the formula bar. Hope that helps.

1. select a blank cell; the one next to the last number in the row
2. Choose sum
3. highlight the row
4. hit enter

it should sum the entire row for you automatically

go to the end of the Row ( where you want to put your Total )
then Type ( =SUM("1st row":"Last row") )
i.e.
=SUM(D5:D12)

Or click on the addition symbol ( ∑ ) then:
chose the cells you want to add together by pressing the left mouse
or by pressing the CTRL + chose the cells you want

then ENTER

there is a formula button, up on the toolbar. It has all sorts of formulas, and can arrange them how you want them, in rows or columns.
