my cousin is 18 and she liked this boy who is 20, she told him she liked him and he was giving examples {stuff like he was dumb and he is bad}
then he told her she can do better, what does this mean, please explain, thanks

it means he doesnt like her and if he says she can do better that means she can have a much better person so if he doesnt like her then she shouldnt ask him out or anything...

He probably believes he is not good enough for her. Maybe he feels like she would soon find out what he was like (dumb?/bad) and she would leave him, so he's trying to save himself the hurt. One problem with this is that what people believe about themselves often comes true. A person who thinks they are dumb, doesn't try things they think are too hard for them, so they don't end up exercising their brain and getting smarter. People who are told they are chubby at school often start to act like a chubby person, they eat what chubby people eat and don't exercise.
His self esteem can be helped but a girlfriend might not be the person to do it. Get him in to a youth group or church.

He was trying to tell her that she can do better. Since he is bad, she shouldnt have a guy like him. He either isnt into her or does not want to see her get hurt, because of the way it is. Sorry to hear that... Happy Valentines Day!!!

Your cousin can do better. Anyone that gives those kind of reasons is saying that he is not interested.

it means that he has really low self esteem, or he really is an idiot. he cares enough to warn her, though... she should try to, I don't know, get to know him a bit? look at how he acts, if he's an idiot, he was just being honest.

sounds like he's lowering his self-esteem so she pity's him so he can feel more loved. If he says he's bad, he's bad. only crazy people says that they're bad.
