Not a single one of us believes we have proof of his non-existence (just as you do not have proof if his existence). We are atheists because there is no evidence. How many times do I have to say to you people that proof and evidence are not the same thing? Give me evidence - I'll believe.

~~~MGG ,,,,Simple deduction can prove it. Of all Mankind's gods,,, there are still a few which exist. Of course those who have a god feel that the others are False. What determines the Legitimacy of ANY of these gods, past or present is,,, The individual Faith of The Believer,,,and usually this is influenced by their place of birth on the planet. Now consider how ALL gods past and present have revealed themselves to the World. They certainly don't present themselves to The Heretics who would surely be the most in need of Divine Guidance. No god can stand up to Honest Scrutiny by an Educated Intellect not influenced by some Church Authority. This is Historical Fact acheived by the Greatest Non-Sectarian Thinkers of Human History. Open your Mind and set it free from Dogmatism.
Lol!!! The first answer is a riot!
"Oh and we don't believe in the non-existence of God. We don't believe in the existence of God."
In other words, Atheists do not believe that God does not exist. They do not believe God exists.
Okay...?
Well everyone has the choice to believe or not to believe. No evidence or proof either way, although many claim that the evidence is 'overwhelming' that God does not exist.
There are two kinds of Atheists...
1. The ones that just plain aren't convinced that GOD exists. To them, Atheism isn't a religion. It isn't a way of life.... it's just a category that they just so happen to belong to. If you called them an Atheist, they'd probably gripe about you labeling them.
2. Angry punks that hate anybody that dares to invade their space with anything they don't want. The type of guys that had religion shoved down their throats by their hypocrite slash bigot parents their entire lives. People that were shunned and treated like they had the plague by little Christian girls they went to school. All of those people that tried to 'bring them back to Jesus' when all they really wanted was some love...... oh, no, I'm sorry, I meant some sex.
Now, the first group don't need proof that GOD doesn't exist, but they sure would like proof that he does. The second group. Well. They just want to be angry.
God's existence hasn't been proved and yet people believe.
Thing is, many people don't need to believe in things like a higher power or that you'll be rewarded after death in order for their lives to have meaning. I'm frankly not concerned about what happens after I die so I have no need for mythical figures. I'm far more concerned with the here and now and how my life effects those around me. I don't need the promise of a reward in order to treat people well.
By the way, burden of proof lies with the individuals that posit the existence of something. Not with those of us that never introduced the idea.
I don't believe I have proof of the non-existence of a god or gods. And you're right, I don't believe anyone has proof of their existence, either. I've heard and seen and read a lot of supposed 'proofs'--including the banana, lol--and I think that science makes sense to me, and that belief in a hypothetical deity makes no sense at all.
I understand that fear creates the need people feel to believe in a deity that is watching over them, and I understand that people are able to want something so badly they give it power over their lives and actions. While I've experienced that kind of emotional response over someone I love, or a goal I want to achieve, I can't give fear that kind of weight in my life. That's why I don't believe--that, and because as yet, science does not disappoint in it's continuing ability to futher explain our existence, and our universe.
Oh, also, I'll toss in my favorite godless quote for good measure...
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not
omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?”
Because there's no possible way that gods could exist. We can't prove a negative, but we don't need to.
And besides, even if it's NEVER proven one way or the other (which it won't be), skeptics are on solid philosophical ground.
The believers will always have to deal with the burden of proof. NOT the atheists.
This depends solely on the individual.
Most people simply fail to believe in God because there is not convincing evidence to do so.
Some actively believe there is no God, mostly because one is unnecessary and it makes more sense than the alternative.
Among many, many, many other reasonings.
technological know-how isn't "changing", it is only being stronger. as an occasion, Newtonian gravity was the final theory of gravity. Then, Einstein got here alongside at found out well-known relativity, that's a extra sensible theory of gravity. Newtonian gravity wasn't incorrect, it only could not be used for theoretical applications. Einstein's theory nonetheless gave the comparable numerical values as Newton's theory, yet Einstein's theory grew to become into extra theoretical and it envisioned the existence of black holes, the increasing universe and so on. in the present day, we are attempting to strengthen a good extra sensible theory of gravity (quantum gravity) that would desire to help us understand singularities. In essence, quantum gravity might desire to shrink to well-known relativity as super distances, considering that all of us be attentive to that well-known relativity is genuine. and that i don't think of everyone seems to be asserting that technological know-how disproves god. the belief of god (in spite of religion) is a philosophical theory, so which you would be unable to apply technological know-how to disprove it.
How can we prove scholarship? Should we start learning the alphabet, or just close our eyes and say I don't believe?
The Holy Books should be considered as textbooks for people who want to know about the divine education. There is no way to enlighten any men if they refuse to go through the natural process of education.
