You did the right thing... what he was doing was NOT cool on any level. The respectful thing would have been to call first always before just showing up.

Thanks for the laugh..I would of normally answered this question like the others but I guess why I am laughing is because I later married this person and he has been the best man I have ever had. He did all the same things you have mentioned,he went to my job once a day for like 4 months and I would be mean to him and tell him I was going to call security on him and everything thing. But then 4 days after Valentines day he came up to me and said please go out with me one time and after that I'll leave you alone if you decide you don't want to take this any further. Boy,I was having a blast with him,he made me smile,he made me feel protected. I mean everything a man would do for you and more. Soon after that we moved in together and married 2 years later. I still asked him why did you act like that,it really scared me.He said when he really wants something he won't leave without it. They don't realize to us it looks crazy but to them they don't know how to just approach someone. Didn't mean to bore you.But your question just brought back so many memories. Thanks!

It sounds like he's a stalker or controlling or both. I had an ex who did that. He just wanted to pop up to see what i was up to. He was insecure and wanted to make sure i wasn't cheating or anything. Probably the same situation with ur stalker ex.

Strange practice your ex had. If he was living close to your place, that would have been fine to pop by occasionally, but taking the risk to waste so much time regularly is sort of odd.

Stalker, really paranoid and thinks you are doing things behind his back. Good thing you dumped him-leave all that in the past!

If he lived out of state, maybe he just wanted to see you. Its really no big deal. I think its cute, actually... that he would drive that far to surprise you.
But i could have it all wrong, too.

He probably had the idea that he would catch you doing something...
Probably best you ended it, could have led to major insecurity problems.
