I'm a Christian girl but I do not know anything about the 72 virgins thing in Heaven. I just hear it mentioned every once in awhile. I'm confused. Is it a Catholic thing or something? Because I've never heard about it and I'm definitely not Catholic. If any fellow Christians out there can explain it to me, it would be greatly appreciated.

The 72 virgins thing is not Christian. It is Muslim belief. They believe that if they are killed while harming or killing the "infidels"(us), they will be sent to heaven and will recieve 72 virging to do with what they please. What a crock.

No people think it has to do with Islam. It has nothing to do with Islam at all. Terrorists just say that to get more followers. NOWHERE in the Qur'an, Sunnah, or Hadeeths will you find any mention of men getting 72 virigns in Jinnah. That's a LIE! I'm a Muslim. Not a terrorist by the way.

The 72 virgins is a muslim thing.
Some of the terrorist sects of the muslim faith believe that they will receive 72 virgins upon death in lieu of the sacrifice of thier life for the cause of islamic people.

As I understand it, Islamic martyrs are promised that they'll have etetrnal access to 72 virgins (perpetual virgins!) in Heaven because of their being martyrs. It's a mistranslation, though, they only get a handful of grapes.

Virgins in Paradise is a reward promised by Allah سبØاÙ٠٠تعاÙÙ. The number that each man gets, Allah سبØاÙ٠٠تعاÙÙ knows best. (72 is for the martyrs).
Abu Umama narrated: "The Messenger of God said, 'Everyone that God admits into paradise will be married to 72 wives; two of them are houris and seventy of his inheritance of the [female] dwellers of hell. All of them will have libidinous sex organs and he will have an ever-erect penis.' "

This [Qur'an 78:33] means round breasts. They meant by this that the breasts of these girls will be fully rounded and not sagging, because they will be virgins, equal in age.

I don't think it has anything to do with Christianity. It is the belief of Islam (Muslims) that if someone dies a martyrs death (dies for their faith) that they will be rewarded by having a number of virgins at their disposal when they arrive in heaven.

Muslims are told that if they become a martyr for Islam they will get 72 virgins when they go to Paradise!They are being lied to they may get one 72 yr old one in hell!

The problem with the Muslim concept of 72 virgins is that when you do the math, they ran out of virgins about ten years ago.

72 like 40 is a generic number meaning "many" and its not virgins. roughly translated it means helpers. The sick and twisted religious right in this country have perverted it to suit their propoganda
