And he is for the Iraq war and the troop surge. This sounds like what a lot of you have been waiting for. A president who's own child is in the military and fighting in the war.

I don't know what his policy on illegals is, but if it is what you say it is, I disagree with it, but that a lone won't stop me from voting for him. There are more important issues.

Of course you should look at everything about him. This question was directed at the people who always get on here and ***** about why Bush should send his daughters to Iraq.

I would still want to evaluate his political platform and see how well we agree on the issues I feel are most important.

John McCain may have a son fighting in the Marines and I commend his son for doing so, but that still does not mean that I agree with McClain on many of his ideas. McCain is for amnesty for illegals, and for that reason alone he will not get my vote.

That is only one issue; I think it is a bad idea to vote for a candidate based upon one issue. Of course some issues are more important that others, but make sure you vote for a well-rounded candidate.

No still wont vote for him. The sons or daughters of politicians have nothing to do weather or not I vote for them. 4 years of McCain will be just like 4 more years of Bush. No thanks.

How about Jim Webb, who served his country as well as his father, brother and son today?
Like so many other Americans, today and throughout our history, we serve and have served, not for political reasons, but because we love our country. On the political issues - those matters of war and peace, and in some cases of life and death - we trusted the judgment of our national leaders. We hoped that they would be right, that they would measure with accuracy the value of our lives against the enormity of the national interest that might call upon us to go into harm's way.
We owed them our loyalty, as Americans, and we gave it. But they owed us - sound judgment, clear thinking, concern for our welfare, a guarantee that the threat to our country was equal to the price we might be called upon to pay in defending it.

I would be more likely to vote for John because he was a POW. He actually fought in a war rather than ducking out because he had a rich Papa. I will probably vote for Obama.
