The book of Revelation in the Bible is very confusing. Anybody know any good books that explain the symbolism? And please, no blasphemy or rude remarks please!

Nope. Sorry. Be careful when you look for other books to explain the Bible. Because if you don't know the Bible, don't know the truth, you are very vulnerable to be confused and lied to. I encourage you to just read the Bible and pray for wisdom and knowledge.

The book of Revelation is a Grand Book itself. No need for other books (besides the Bible) to explain to you what the symbols are. The Revelation BOOK itself explains those symbols. For example, the "wild beasts" represents political governments. The "harlot/prostitute" represents the whole empire of (false) religion. The 4 horses and it's horsemen each represents death, famine, war, and salvation. I can go on and on about the book of Revelation. I suggest that you go to the link below and request the copy of the Revelation Book for free. If you need someone to explain it to you, then request for a FREE home bible study. Hope this helps.

It is either all literal or all ridiculous.

If you believe the bible is literally true, there is no symbolism. Scrolls that are read are rolled up sheets of parchment. If a lamb is said to open a seal then it is a young sheep that opens (miraculously, since it lacks a grasping hand) an actual seal. If a beast is said to ride a red horse then it rides a red (not reddish) horse (not a horse-like beast). There is no more interpretation needed here of the symbolism than there is interpretation needed in Genesis of the symbolism.

Saying that John Doe wrote a commentary explaining Revelation is like saying that Charles Darwin wrote a commentary explaining Genesis.

You don't need another book to explain the symbolism in the Book of Revelation. In the Book itself most all symbols are explained. Example: Revelation 1: 20 The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.
The Book of Revelation can be understood if we understand right division of the scripture (II Tim 2:15). To understand the prophecy in the Book of Revelation we must also understand that the Body of Christ (the church) of today has no part of this prophecy. In fact, there is no prophecy being fulfilled today. The next thing to happen to the Body of Christ is the catching up to meet the Lord in the air (I Thes 4:13-17; I Cor 15:51). The next thing to happen to the Nation of Israel is the wrath of God poured out on the earth as prophesied in the Book of Daniel. Seventy weeks are determined upon Israel to bring an end of sins. Daniel 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

Sixty-nine weeks have been fulfilled when Messiah was cut off but the seventh week will be fulfilled in the first 19 chapters of the Book of Revelation.

The Book of Revelation is not figurative, symbolical, apocalyptic, hidden or secretive prophecy as many teach. It can be understood if we believe it as it is written and to whom it is written. Every verse of scripture has three applications: Historical, Doctrinal and Spiritual (II Tim 3:16). The doctrine in the Book of Revelation will apply to the Nation of Israel not to the Body of Christ.

Read The Great Controversy by EG White. It will give you a very interesting perspective on Revelation and the end times.

( I have not read all of it, but parts) Also I did a wonderful bible study on Revelation, it was a women's study but the books we used were called "Wisdom of the Word" by Jeanne McCullough.
