Yes it does.
Catholics DO NOT worship saints. We don't worship Mary. We worship God as Father, Son (Jesus), and Holy Spirit.
Catholics ask the saints to pray with us to God. We are lazy in our speech and say that we pray "to" saints, but that's not quite accurate, theologically.

Yes, one of the commandments was "thou shalt not worship idols"
idols includes images, statues, etc... oh, and by the way, praying to them is the same as worshipping them, you can ONLY PRAY TO GOD! and his name is not THE LORD - muppets, get hold of an old bible, gods name is Jehovah - no i'm not one of his nutty witnesses - but i know a few :P
so all you "christians" (i'm looking mainly at the catholics here) are idol worshippers, and are going to hell...
The symbol of the cross is an idol (one i'm sure the big jc would love to see if was ever to return!)
saints and the virgin mary (virgin?!?!?! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAA!!! in the bible it clearly mentions that Jesus has 7 brothers and sisters - all of them older than him)
pretty much any religious icon you can think of is an idol, and under the commandments must not be worshipped...
the commandments also stated that "man shall not lie-down with man (sorry guys, but that means homosexuals don't get into heaven)
and don't even get me started on the bishops and vicars (surely no god would allow these filthy peadophiles to do what they do) i'm sick of hearing in the news how these so called "men of god" have been buggering the choirboys...

Yes it does.
At the time the Ten Commandments were issued, cultures all around Israel were praciting ancestor worship. For example the Hittites were frequently offering animal sacrifice to their own direct ancestors.
Ancestor worship, such as it was (or the admiration of saints), is not a bad, evil thing. It's a way of celebrating past heros and people of respect sort of like the celebration of holidays. The reason why Moses (and God) prohibited the practice was because he didn't want the worship of God to be diluted by competing religions.
We sometimes forget the cultural impact of denying the recognition of our Father in heaven. It's sad to see so many people who don't know him and actually find ways of "proving" that something they've never experienced doesn't exist.
If you think about it, that's really, really dumb. It would be like me trying to prove that Madagascar doesn't exist just because I've never "seen" it.
The cultural impact is that as soon as you deny or move away from the recognition of God's existance, you usually begin to move away from the values he teaches us, as well.

Are you a total moron? Praying is not worshiping!! Catholics pray to Mary, the mother of Jesus, to intervene on our behalf.Being a good son, Jesus would be hard pressed to deny a request by his mother, wouldn't you think? It is the same with the saints. They were made saints through the miracles that God worked through them. I would imagine that running the universe would be a big job and God would need plenty of assistants to help. You should use less judgmental language when you ask questions, it is very offensive. I realize that there is a lot of bad PR out there when it comes to the Catholic Church these days. However, only God has the right to judge any of us.

Yes, worshipping saints would break one of the commandments - the first commandment. It is the reason Catholics do not worship saints. Catholics worship God alone.

You should only worship God. The only way to Our Heavenly Father is through His Son Jesus the Christ. The saints cannot help you there either and neither can Mary.
May God Bless you.

Yes. Worshipping the saints would be a sin.
However, no religion worships them (Santaria has adopted some of the saints in leu of the Lua of Voodoo though).

I am an atheist, but that doesn't mean I don't know about things....people don't worship the saints (that would be worshipping other gods before God), they see them as intercessors....meaning they are more pure and are cleaner of soul than other humans beings and therefore one step closer to God, so he would listen to prayers that went through the saints as being more important. It's all a bunch of malarchy.

To Worship: Adoration and honor given to God. --- Yes, worshiping a Saint as God is bad.
Loving and honoring Holy people is not bad. I love my parents (another 10 Comandments), and I love them and honor them. When my dad died, I keep picture of him to remind me of the joy he brought me. I also have pictures of Mary (Jesus's Mom) and St. Cecila (Saint of Music) ... but this doesn't indicatate that I'm waiting for the pictures of my Dad, Mary, or St. Cecila to come alive from the wall each time I think of the joy they bring silly (giggle).

Thou shall have no other Gods before me.......is that the one?
I would have to say no as long as the saints aren't considered a God and the saints are used as reminders that prompt us to turn towards God and not actually worship them....
hmm....good question.....I
