Searcher: Interesting. To remove evil and suffering from the world would make you like Satan in God's eyes. Who's the bad one there then?

That is a VERY good question. But you realize no one has any hard proof so this will all be speculation here.

I think back to the first chapters of Genesis (I promise I won't cut and paste here) and the story of the Garden of Eden. Why would God put the tree of the knowledge of good and evil there? Because he wanted a person not to be a robot and to have the freedom to choose to love him.

To end evil on earth, would mean that I had control at the level of God. That's the original sin, to want the same control as God instead of deferring to Him. And that's what Lucifer (now known as Satan) tried to do - become God.

So, thinking of these terms, I believe that God wants us to allow him to be in control, but to choose this. By eliminating evil, we no longer have that choice.

And besides, as we all know, there are some people who do not want to be forced to be good. What would happen to those people? It would not work. That's why people rebel at god, because they have no desire to be in subjection. Instead they want things on their terms.

I would be God if I could do this and I would not be mad at myself.

Yes, of course, because God will not have an enemy to combat.
