What cost money is comprehensive insurance, so pay cash and get a car that's really cheap to insure, (Saturn, Focus zx3 etc) if you cash for it you can then buy liability ONLY for it.
Then, shop around as prices wildly differ, you can't assume the first insurer is the best.
