I don't think they swear on a bible at all anymore. They swear to the court, therefor if they don't tell the truth they are breaking the law.

Depends on the state you're in and the judge, some will let you just raise your right hand. I've pissed off a judge before because I refused to swear on the bible. I assume it was because she was a fundie.
