Why do you think he misinterpreted Jesus? What exactly do you mean? DO you not believe what Paul wrote?

I think the Apostle Paul most certainly did not misinterpret the teachings of Christ. He died a painful death for his beliefs. He is an excellent example for Christians.

I don't think Paul know anything about the teachings of Jesus.
1. He never met Jesus, he admits this.
2. He never quotes Jesus, cites him, tells of his deeds or any other real details with the exception of the old hymn he repeats about him. It is hard to tell if he knows anything about him at all.
3. He obviously doesn't get along well with the other apostles who actually met him.

Paul/Saul wasn't even one of the original apostles...he was a Roman tax collector in the first century. Therefore it is seems more likely that Saul was working for the Romans to "reinterpret" the teachings of Jesus to consolidate the waning power of Rome. I'd say it worked pretty well.

I don't think that Paul misinterpreted the Scriptures at all and not sure why you'd ask that question. Being that God can create the world and such intricate creatures as humans, I truly feel He can make sure His book says what he wants it to say no matter who's "interpreting" it.
