You are asking this question because some people want us to believe that God is a father who allows no evil. The truth is that God has nothing to do with good or evil, which are our own creation or interpretation of things. What comes from God is one thing, what we see or how we see it is a completely different thing.
This explains why what creates a good harvest in one place is disaster in another; when a family mourns the death of a loved one, the undertaker is grateful to God for good business, etc.
Interestingly, underlying all these apparent confusion, is God's love for all creation. No, God did not specifically authorize 9/11, but He does not have to stop it either. We are all in a school to understand God's ways, learning at our individual rates as God has allowed us to experiment and discover for ourselves how best to learn (otherwise called free will). What some of us think is evil is actually part of a chain of events that we inadvertently started much earlier, and which has the capacity to make us learn something as it unfolds. If God stops the chain of events, we lose the opportunity to understand what we did wrong. So He does not interfere, knowing that ultimately, we will come to our senses, even it takes many incarnations. He is that patient.

If you look through history, a nation that believes in God will come into power. They will become a great nation. They will start to stray from God. He will often give them a wake up call. If that doesn't work, he will often times leave them to their own devices and let them be destroyed or conquered. I believe that 9/11 is out wake up call. As a nation, we must go back to God or this nation will have something much worse happen to us.
Look around us. Iran has nukes, North Korea has nukes, some people want to destroy the USA from within, and we've severed ties with almost all of our allies. The time is right. It could happen any time now. 5 years, 1 year, now... It just depends on when God will allow it.
And for those of you who do not believe me and say that God is love, I would like to remind you of Israel, Sodom, and Gomorrah.

Only an atheist fool could dare to think or expect God to protect this country while so many people like yourself mock Him, and have no fear of God. While this country takes Him and prayers to Him out of schools. While this country's atheists are trying to take the name of God from the currency, coins, and all public places. While this country entertains the idea of erasing His name from everything! While this country's parents murder their unborn children in growing numbers ( 4,000 a day worldwide!), and backslide further and further away from holy living and ideals. Only an ignorant, prideful, blind, self-serving person such as yourself could ask such a thing! God's grace will leave this land more and more, until there is NO grace left for the USA. She was once blessed of God, because she BLESSED God, and praised God, and was founded on Christian principles. But no longer. She now panders to the godless masses that curse God, and she no longer deserves God's grace.

Feels that way doesn't it? Easier to blame a god, than have man take responsibility for his own actions or try to understand the why of others.
Bad things make some ppl not believe in a god. For me, bad things made me not believe in evil. It's all about personal agenda. Some agenda is good...some isn't. To say "not our kind" or "from some thing other than a human"...If we take responsibility and face ourselves and fellow man, try to understand, we can make a difference.
Why blame a god? Why blame a satan? And even worse...blaming those victimized. Because blaming ppl hurt or killed during 911--as if it were some punishment or test...how cruel! But some choose to believe in an absentee god or a cruel god. Maybe the only thing wrong with Christianity, is Christians?

God was where He always is... right there. God ALWAYS knows what will happen and when. Bad things happen, it's part of life and somehow part of God's plan, even if we can't always explain it or personally understand it.
If you're still focusing on 9/11, I think it may be the time to get some professional help. It was a realistically a long time ago.

Lol, everyone blaims God for all of the problems we make. God won't show His glory and power directly because He doesn't want most people who doesn't believe first to know He exists. If He did you'd know He exists and you'd have no choice on whether or not to believe in Him. Then our free will would be taken away. And God gave us free will from the beginning. So that we might 'choose' to love.

God lets these things happen. I know from your point of view it sounds harsh. This world is not perfect. God never said it would be. He never promised us a happy life. The Bible says on this side of heaven there would be heartache, disease and sadness. These people didn't deserve this, no one does. God says in the Bible that there will be earthquakes, floods, wars, famine, great plagues. He promises that if we chose Him. If we believe in Him, He will give us an eternity in paradise. With no more tears or sadness. Matt 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
The spirit of the Anti-christ lives in this world and until Jesus calls all of His people home, it will be like this.

OK, here it is. God gave man his free will to choose as he wishes whether that be good or that be evil. God knows that this life is but a fraction of a second compared to the eternities that we will live beyond this life. But, we will be judged according to the life we lead here. If he were to step in anytime anyone chose to do evil, 1) how would that be free will? 2) How could he judge anyone on things they didn't actually do because He stopped them from doing it?
