During my wedding planning, I have had a hard time finding exactly what I have been looking for, whether the items were too highly priced or just not the style or look that I had envisioned.

Very frustrating...

SO, I decided to make some of the items for our wedding and it is all turning out great!

I am thinking about starting my own business making wedding items for a low price. This business would offer hand-made, creative, personalized items for your wedding, such as guest books, pen holders, ring pillows, flower girl baskets, and other items that are personalized expecially for your wedding with your wedding colors and style in mind.

You would be able to see samples of all of the different items and choose from a wide variety of colors, styles, and looks.

I am just curious to see if there would be enough interest in this type of business before I get started. I will be posting on several websites.

Thanks in advance for your opinion!
Happy Wedding Planning!

I'd be interested - it's just tough to keep your costs down enough so that you'll make money and have a low price. It seems hard to believe you can compete with Chinese slave labor.

I think people would, I hope so. I also craft. I wanted some "corsages" for a company party I helped plan and I saw florists wanted something like $10 - $15 each. I made them for only about $1-2 each. I could charge only $5 or so and still make a profit.

You go girl! ( I presume you're the bride) :-)

It sounds like a lovely idea but with today's economy quickly going down hill, I am not sure you want to get involved in selling things. People just can't afford that stuff anymore. I work at a place that hosts weddings and we haven't been getting anybody and we are usually packed....

Sorry to be a downer.

that sounds like an exciting plan...get with a business coach (your local chamber of commerce can direct you), you may have a very unique business when you get started...i think it will work.
