I love pickles, and lucky for me they are low in calories. But... I wonder if the reported calorie content on the side of the jar includes all of the vinegar and other stuff that goes into the jar when it's sealed. I don't consume that stuff, and neither do most people, so I'm wondering if I'm actually consuming less calories than I think. Bonus points if you can tell me why I should really even care that much.

If you read the side of the pickle bottle it tells you the serving size (in Number of average pickels) and this is what the calorie count is based on.
With pickels , it is only the solid part that calories refer to.

Yes,it does count, but do not drink the pickle juice.

Pickles are low calorie but high in sodium.

Pickles are craved in pregnancy.

sorry i don't have an answer, but thats a really cool question, i had never considered it before. pickle brin probably doesn't have a lot of calories because ther is no fat or sugar, but it got me to thinking about canned peaches, and what about fruit cocktail, every bit is different
