Yes, that's what it can lead to. The Gulf stream is a conveyor belt of heat from the equator to North America and Europe. The melting water of the ice of Greenland mixes up with this stream, and the amount of warmth, transported from the south will reduce, or could eventually stop completely. The Gulf stream is proven to have slowed down quite a bit already. If the amount of heat reaching the northern hemisphere reduces, this could lead to an ice age. If this will actually get this far, nobody really knows. Scenarios vary from some kind of stability before an ice-age starts, to a complete freeze of the planet that can last for hundreds of thousands of years. This has happened in the past of mother planet, and what has happened, will happen again eventually. But don't sleep bad about it yet, the worst case scenario, if it happens, and it's not too likely for what I've read, will most likely take hundreds or thousands years or longer to deploy, unless the Gulf stream really comes to a dramatic stop soon, and then all other oceans streams must stop also, which I think will not happen very quickly..

It is not known at this time what the heat pump really is despite assurances to the contrary. Europe is a lot warmer because of heat from the North Alantic ocean but how the ocean is warmed to begin with is the mystery. They say it is caused by the Gulf Stream but anyone who studies this detail will conclude the belief is without merit.

No, because global warming is a crock. I have a question, whatever happened to the Global Cooling problem the same idiots that are screaming about Warming now were screaming about in the '80's?!

Millions of tons of crap DAILY into the atmosphere is nothing to sneeze at. Pun intended.

We are screwing ourselves over for a buck.
Shooting ourselves in the herd.
Stepping on our own ducks.
Cutting off our nose to spite our finch.
Kicking ourselves in the asparagus beetle.

For the almighty dollar we're ruining it for everybody and everything, and people who deny it are three fries short of a Happy Meal.
Have a nice day.
