Yeah, run like hell.

Not because she used to drink, but because of the whole "disease/victim" mentality that some people adopt about it.

If you want to drink, drink. If you don't want to drink, don't drink. That's it.

A couple of my dearest friends are alcoholics so I'd hang around to see if we clicked. I'd be impressed with the 1 yr sobriety. Good for you if it's you!!!

I would think "Good for her"
Recovering from a serious illness like alcoholizm is a brave, & difficult thing to do. There is only one thing that is braver, & that is admitting to a person you care about that you were once (or are) an alcoholic. :-)

No. Why run? We all have something in our past that we are not proud of. The key is that she is sober now. It is unfair to hold her past against her.

no i won't run at all. i used to drink heavily, and i quit 8 years ago. i know that drinking will never be a problem for me again.. so i certainly wouldn't be scared off. i'd give her a chance and see how things go. i'd actually prefer to date women who don't drink.. so that would be a plus for me..

First few things that pop into my head are:

"Potential Cheater."

"Problematic."

"Weak."

"Addictive Personality."

Etc.

But hey nobody's perfect right? 1 Year sober is definitely not enough though. I wouldn't run ... but I don't know ... it wouldn't feel right.
