ok i have this nickname a few and my lil bro calls me and it is colie and you say it it sounds like coal-e ( for those who nevr seen the name) but someone people say that its a girls name it that true?

It is a nickname so why even worry about it...that doesn't sound like a girls name to me but then again who knows. I like that for a nickname though and you should be glad that they have that for you...my nephews nickname was "Pooder" so he was teased a lot of the time.

The name is possibly derived from the Marathi word "Koli", which means a spider (one who spins a web - in Marathi that translates to 'one who weaves a net', and hence the fisherman, who weaves the net, is also called a Koli).
