This is for my state income tax return.
Line 59 states:
Enter the portion of line 3 subjected to tax by other states while an Ohio resident. (I worked in California all summer)
Line 3 is my Ohio adjusted gross income
Am I supposed to put the entire amount of my Ohio adjusted gross income, or the portion of it that was earned in California?

Are you sure that line 3 is not your "total" adusted gross income (all states included) ? As stated on your federal form?
Are you supposed to then subtract line 59 from the rest of your adjusted gross income ( to deduct out what income is accounted for Ohio) ?
My guess is - (and I hate to say it ) but you are probably supposed to file a California state income tax form also.

The answer to your question sounds like it should be:
enter just the California portion.

I also worked in two states. What a pain !

Good luck
