go bowling or mini golfing- it allows you to talk and be entertained
go to a museum
go on a boat ride if you live by a lake or river or ocean
go to dinner then go on a walk together
go to a park and play tennis or hike

Doing something that gets your heart rate elevated will actually increase your attraction towards another. So go bike riding, ski, go dancing, swimming is a good second or third date (leaves less to the imagination on the first date- you want him day dreaming!) or do anything that'll get you and your date's heart pounding!

cook dinner and go out to a movie. Go to a arcade and play some games. Go to a jazz club and unwind.

seeing a movie together could work. not a sappy romance one, but a comedy or action film. you can't really talk during the movie, so you don't have to worry about awkward pauses and stuff. plus, afterwards, you'll have tons to discuss!

do some kind of activity where ur spending time getting to know each others..i usually do a movie followed by some kind of card game or something.
