I know it's under my laptop, but I can't find where I can enter it in on the actual system. Someone reinstalled my Windows XP and they put the wrong key on it.

Yeah - the other poseter if right. If you have your laptop worked on and don't have the right product key installed, then he used a different version of XP and you may not be able to change yours. If you paid money, report him.

If it was a friend, then get a program called magic jellybean and try to change it to your legitimate key:

however, that still may not solve issues of trying to update your copy of Windows with automatic updates or other software from MS that uses WGA - Windows Genuine Authentication.

there should be a label on the laptop its a green one with a silver strip in it look under the laptop for this or on the book that came with your windows xp or on the box that came with your windows xp if you cant find the Product Key what idiot installed and set up windows os with the wrong Product Key? if iut was some tech guy at a computer store have him done and report the store too microsoft
