Hi. I usually use Turbotax. A family member has asked me to help do her taxes as well with Turbotax. Is there a limit to how many returns I can file using Turbotax?

Also, could I install the program on her computer as well as mine from the same cd so she could do it by herself?

According to Turbo Tax, you are allowed by IRS regulation to create and efile up to 5 returns off a single software license. Any more returns need to be filed by paper.

Also, according to them, the End User License allows you to install TT on any computer you own, home or business, allowing you to prepare returns for you and your immediate family.

That's their words. How you interpret that is not my business...

You should be good. I have used TaxCut for years and always had three or more returns filed from one copy of the software. Now if your talking like 20 or more, I don't know but 5 or so I'm guessing should be OK.

Check the license that comes with the CD. Most of the tax softwares are meant for personal use and are legal to install in one personal computer.

You can file multiple returns with one program

and you can put the CD on multiple pcs from one purchase.

3 years ago, TT made a lot of people mad when they had the one CD , one PC purchase. They since changed it.
