Well since I'm not sure of your age, I will say this...ex-husbands and ex-fiance's are a big no-no, but if you are high school or college--I think it is ok. Maybe mention it to your friend first, and see how she reacts--if she isn't over him, you may lose her as a friend. Boyfriends come and go, but true girlfriends can last a life time. As long as you are honest and upfront with her, she has probably moved on to someone else, and will appreciate you asking first.

Oh, I've been in this situation... its like you think the dude is SO not hot, but then you realize he is SO cute with his personality and then only come to realize, you DO start thinking he's hot... yeah, been there. Ok, here's my plan: I started talking to him, even though I knew the dude was SO not my type with his appearance, and I knew if I ignored him, it was like no DUH he's gonna ignore me too, then I'll NEVER get a chance with this guy. I say give the dude a chance, you know what I'm sayin? Just continue to be the cool girl you are and go after him.
