Well...i wiped my computer due to this problem, reinstalled windows yet when i turn the computer on the windows xp screen appears and the blue bar loads across the screen as it should but it is a poor color sometimes it flashes blue or red then freezes and boot up does not get further than that.
I have tried to run in safe mode does not work,,please help as this is the only probelm i have had on my pc, (altho it is a majour problem) but if i can find out the issue it will help...

only problem with that answer is that... did not go online, i simply installed a few programs like AOL and my printer and a few drivers then the issue continued

i think a virus corrupted ur start up files/registry...it happened with me too....had to reinstall windows

Could be a bad hard drive, or failing/blocked fan (CPU getting too hot) or bad power supply or just about anything hardware ...

you ought to diminish the load in startup. attempt now to not load too many courses at startup. form msconfig in run and flow to startup tab. uncheck the undesirable courses. word: do not turn the antivirus or any major software.
