Is this a regular occurrence? I think it's kind of hard to be a kid sometimes....if this is a first, just cut her some slack. If it becomes a habit, teach her the lesson. You could deliver it with a nice note inside, "I love you always....even when you're forgetful. Don't make it a habit."

Tell your daughter that you will do this once or twice, and then it is her job to remember to bring her lunch all the time. In order for your daughter to be healthy, active and focused at school it is a good idea for her to have food to eat, and not have to ask for it from others. If your daughter's school offers cafeteria food as well, have her bring some money to school and keep it in her locker in case there is a day when she forgets her lunch and you are unavailable. Just use the warning technique. She will be more cautious. Perhaps she was just in a rush this morning. Stuff happens.

Hassles will come from our kids at all ages but 15 is one of the worst. I don't think going hungry is going to teach her the lesson you intend to teach, so go ahead and take her some food before she thinks she is only a bother and of no concern to you. Teaching responsibility can be done in a more productive situation. Think about ways to teach.

If this happens once or twice, then it's ok to bring it to her. After all, school is stressful, and it's important that she eats something. However, if this is a once a week thing, then after the first time say no. If it's a recurring habit, then she does need to learn responsibility, but if it's only happened once it's just a one time mistake that you can help her out with.

Well, i see what you are trying to teach her but does the school offer lunch? Can she pay for it tomorrow? My sons school would do that if he forgot his. I would just make sure she gets a lunch...somehow...maybe she could borrow money from a friend to buy. She won't starve to death I know, but i just don't feel right if she isn't able to get anything to eat.

Take the lunch to her. She'll just resent you if you don't and it won't teach her a lesson.
My mum used to do similar things with me when I was a young'un. I'd accidentally lose a pencil or something and she'd go on and on and on about how I have no respect for my belongings etc etc ... it was a mistake!!
... I still harbor bitterness (-_-) lol

If it was an isolated incident the poor girl forgot her lunch bring it to her but if she does it all the time along with other irresponsible acts I could justify not bringing it to her it depends on the situation.

So she left her lunch at home by *mistake* and you're going to let her go hungry to teach her a lesson? Sounds way out of line to me.

Let her do without! She needs to learn responsibility! Maybe next time she won't forget! She's 15 not 5!
