I was in 2 head on car crashes within a 2 week period of time back in 97. The 2nd one put me in the hospital for 8 months and I still live with chronic pain every day of my life. I am thankful, however to be alive. No one including the Drs thought I'd make it. For a while I thought God was out to get me, but I now realize that I am here for a purpose.

law school.

haha, but I'm not kidding. Since last monday I've stayed up all night every other night trying to get my big paper done... it's due tomorrow at 10:30am, so I'm finally almost finished with the torture. I know it's not as painful physically as the other injuries/conditions the other answerers have had, but there are really awful mental side effects. I can't focus on anything long enough to write it down; I've stopped and waited before crossing the street because I swear the parked car a few feet away was moving; and there's the physical weak condition from not being rested properly. The materials I have to learn aren't that bad... it's actually really interesting, but very very exhausting.

I answered this question at a time when I was spending all of my time doing nothing but law school. I got up Monday and didn't go to bed until last night (Wednesday). It was very difficult. But having slept last night, I realized that there was another time that was pretty bad...
We went to Louisiana for a college football bowl game... I was in band and we left 2 days after Christmas and sat in the airport for 6 hours because our plane was involved in terrorist training at the airport it was flying from. So I ate lunch there and must have had something very bad. I got food poisoning, so I spent the rest of our trip very sick... and I didn't have much of a choice but to attend band practices and go where the band went because we all had to go on the bus. Being away from home with no one to take care of you and having to function (march around a field) while feeling worse than I ever had... that was pretty awful.

I'm not sure which I would choose to do again. It's probably likely that I have to stay up all night again... at least that's just one day instead of feeling awful for a week.

having my both pneumonia and my kidney infection go septic at the same time. I developed a rash all over my body and the hospital thought that the rash was from an allergic reaction even though I told them a million times that i wasn't allergic to anything. Between 5pm Friday and 9am Sunday i made 3 trips to the hospital. 2 of the trips had less than a 12 hour gap.
