I find that very odd. It will only bring looky-loos, who are interested in seeing what a 2nd trimester baby looks like outside the womb. It's rather morbid, I can't imagine having that be an open casket and it'll probably make the whole situation a lot harder for her to get past than it would be otherwise.

I think that is incredibly weird and inappropriate! But to be fair, the woman is probably overwhelmed with grief and isn't thinking clearly. A lot of people feel frustrated when they miscarry because other people treat it like it wasn't a real death and the baby wasn't a real person, so maybe she is trying to prove that the child was real to her even though it was never born. She probably should have had a private burial for it though. That's just creepy. How sad.

It sounds a little odd, but everyone grieves in their own way. Perhaps "mom" is seeking some validation for the life that could have existed for her; her child... If you're uncomfortable with viewing, then don't. Just try to be there for the grieving parents...

I find it very disturbing. She may have some mental issues and may be depressed due to the miscarriage. She may need to go speak with a medical professional and find ways to grieve.

as you can imagine, she loves her child and she wants everyone to see how beautiful her child was just as she sees it. On the other hand, we have some psychos in the world. At least it wasn't an Emmet Til case.

I find it sick.
but if it helps her to get over the loss so be it.
no need for you to go look if you dont want to.
she must think the baby is beautiful and pure.

Please understand that this is her child....Her baby. It is a little disturbing but we all grieve in different ways. This might be her way of expressing closure and acknowledging the life that was inside her. Please be understanding. I don't know what I would do if I lost a child....
