If you have'nt you really should consider doing it because only fool would pass up free Electricity or Heating/Cooling for life just because it is expensive to Install. Besides most of that Stuff pays itself off within savings in at least ten Years.

I looked into this as B and Q now sell wind turbines and solar panels.
The wind turbines take 7 years to cover the cost of the turbine and the life span is estimated at 10 years. Didn't look too good a deal considering if you put the money in the bank you would earn interest on it for those 7 years.
So financially the investment does not give a sensible yield.
You also have to consider the fact that most people live in a house an average of 7 years before moving on and a wind turbine does not add value to a house sale you are just installing one for the benefit for the next house purchaser free of charge to them and extra cost to you. Furthermore solar panels are a bit of a turn off for buyers as they are concerned about maintenance costs so solar panels may end up costing you in sale income.
So to sum up after consideration I have t give it a thumbs down.. and oh for thos darned low energy light bulbs tried them hate them light is poor ,damages your eyes you can never find a fitting that looks good with them as the bulbs are too big.
I think Ill just crank up the heating thermostat a few degrees and enjoy whats left of the planets energy.
