Good thing we bombed Hiroshima back in the day... now the only threat we get from Japan is the threat of low-priced gas efficient cars competing against our American cars.
Too bad they won't let us do the same thing in Iraq, Iran and Syria

Anybody giving thumbs down for people saying Toyota's are good. Your just making yourself look stupid. If you are in to cars at all then you would know that Toyota's have been some of the most reliable transportation for the last 28 + years. I have registered and driven over 50 cars since I was 13...yes 13. All my own repairs. About 15 were Toyota's all high mileage. Hands down better cars overall.
I currently own a land rover, saab, dodge, and a chevy. ( just so you know where I am coming from)

I've got a 2001 Corolla which Toyota have just replaced the engine and cat on free of charge. They have had problems with the oil control rings on the pistons getting carboned up and allow oil to be burnt at an alarming rate, but Toyota have acknowledged this and have extended the warranty to 7 years and 120,00miles provided you have proof of regular oil changes (doesn't have to have been st Toyota garages either).
Now as far as I'm concerned I think this is brilliant. Try and get and engine out of another manufacturer after 7 years. I bet you can't. There are other faults on other models which Toyota have extended the warranty too, so if you have a problem it's worth giving them a call.

Toyotas are NICE cars. My dad owned a Camry for 6 years, and as my dad was going to work one day about 2 years ago, he got into a wreck that TOTALLED the front of the car, I mean, it was unrecognizable, BUT, he walked away from the wreck with a mere bump on the head, and no MAJOR harm done.
He does not wear seatbelts either. So, you do the math.
Besides, they last FOREVER. You could have it for 10 years, and 110,000 miles, and that baby will STILL kick.
How do I know, my father had a 94 Toyota truck until 2004, with over that many miles, and it was STILL in decent shape. By decent I mean, never had any major engine problems. ALl you gotta do is take care of your car, and ANY car will clunk around for a bit. (reguarding you don't get it totaled)

I've had 3. A yaris, brilliant for a first car amazing mpg. Then a Corolla G6, over 100,000 miles and not a problem. Now got a MKIII Supra 1992 with nearly 150k and running perfect. Think they are the best car manufacturer in the world. Never had any issues with any Toyota I've owned, I wouldn't buy any other car.

Quality-wise, the best cars on the road. Before anyone gets offended, I didn't say they were drop-dead gorgeous, or very fast, all I'm saying is: they're great cars, and most of them are the longest-lasting cars you could ever own. Yes, my family has a Toyota.

My Toyota Corolla is on 115,000 and still handles great and goes great. Only problem is that genuine Toyota parts cost more then your average. However you hardly get a problem, so reliable!
