What can I get as a present for my friends who are having an engagement party next week? They are a young couple in their mid 20's and won't be buying a house together for a couple of years yet, so 'house stuff' isn't an option. Help!

Yes, a nice restaurant gift card or movie gift card. Something they can enjoy NOW before all the stress kicks in.

I just got married two years ago, and my husband and I weren't able to move into a house together for a while either. Some of the nice gifts that we got we used right away were:
-A nice quilt/blanket
-A his and her set of just married flip flops (that leave just married in the sand great for the honey moon)
-and a nice basket of bath stuff to share.

Buy them a nice gift card for a spa treatment, couples massage, or a cooking class. Maybe a dinner card for a place they like.

You could get them a basket of food and candles. Maybe a gift card to bed bath & beyond.

I always buy my friends an engraved bottle of champagne when they get engaged. I think it is a cool way to commemorate the event. I hope I get one when I get engaged! :)

If they don't like wine, perhaps a bottle of vodka, whiskey, tequila, scotch, etc...
Go for something that is good quality, obviously.
