remind yourself constantly of all the things you touch with your hands all day long. Now no this, that crap stays under your nails, even after washing your hands. Now you are chewing that stuff up everytime you chew your nails. I know it is a nervous habit, I use to do it also. After doing this, I stopped.

They actually have products made specifically for nail-biting that come in a clear nail polish form, but taste really bitter. Check at your local drug store in the nail section. Unfortunately, I dont' remember what it is called, but it did the trick for my cousin. It's under 5 dollars if I remember correctly.

i too, used to be a nail biter. i never dreamed that i would have long beautiful nails. then one day my boyfriend (now husband) told me how absolutely disgusting he found my nail biting, and asked that i please stop. so i decided i would. and i was successful! i didn't have to get fake nails -which can be a good solution- i just made sure my nails were always neatly trimmed and filed very smooth, because just one uneven edge and i would chew the whole nail off! so just always make sure you have a nail file and nail clippers with you, and that should help. and also remember...when you are biting your nails, you are chewing on dead skin

go to a good salon and put tips on - i know they're fake but they'll look better than 'stubs' and you can't bite them! once they're grown out your natural nail will need a little repair but you won't be in the habit anymore and you'll have beautiful hands!

Finger nail polish remover tastes horrible and the taste doesn't fade quickly. Try soaking your fingers in it for a few minutes daily.

PAINT YOUR NAILS!!! It is much cheaper than getting fake nails put on! Choose your favorite color. (if it looks nice you won't want to bite them)
