It's normal for young dogs to eat feces. I used meat tenderizer sprinkled on the dog's food to stop my Westie from eating poo. Apparently it makes poo taste bitter, but doesn't hurt the dog...about 1/2 teaspoon per bowl. There are also commerical products, but they cost more and the ones I found weren't for dogs under 6 months.

iTs very common for dogs to eat their own poop. Sometimes it means their lacking something in their diet such as protein. The best thing I found to do is teach my dog to leave it. This takes alot of time, but if you're willing to try it has many uses. First you take dry biscuit in your hand and let your dog sniff it and tell it to leave it, once it takes the pressure off your hand give it one of its favorite treats. Keep doing this until the dog gets the idea that leaving the hand alone totally will result in something better. Then start throwing the dry biscuit on the ground and tell your dog to leave it, everytime it goes for the biscuit body block them. and ocne they take the pressure off it start giving them their favorite treats. After they get a hang of this you can try this with a better treat your dog loves, but still not their favorite until they really get the idea of leave it, then you can try it with the poop, socks, or whatever else you don't want your dog to have. Good Luck :)
