Parts of it could...terror attacks and what not. I'm sure the country receives threats every single day.

I would hope that the ridiculous amount of moles, bombings, and other infiltrations (spelling?) in a federal agency like CTU would never become a reality. You'd think they would have good security and thorough screenings you know? lol

It is always possible. I thought after 9/11 it was only a matter of time till our malls and buses were attacked, but I guess they run into a problem of getting in the country and then getting weapons here. In other countries they can just walk across the borders with the weapons and equipment they need. I like how in this season they have put in the debate about fear politics also. We must never forget the rights of our citizens in times of war. The other reason I believe we have not seen mass attacks like that is because they are looking for the spectacular attack, which will probably be nuclear if they can get their hands on it (which eventually happens on the show). That is another reason why we need to watch our ports and borders more tightly. I could care less about the immigrant trying to make some money, but the terrorists who may run across the border is the bigger problem.

Life has a tendency to imitate art almost as often as art imitates life. However in the case of 24 let's hope NOT!
