Well first off, the 80 mph in a 45 mph zone is considered wreckless driving. You could do time for that. As for the cocaine, if it was in your vehicle, you could be reliable for it. After all, there's no real proof for the officer who arrested you that it wasn't in fact your's. If your friend does come forward to admit that it was his, which I am very doubtful he would, then you may get a break. Who will step up to acknowledge something is their's that's illegal, when there is already someone to take the heat? You need to make sure your friend is up for the time he may serve for having a controlled substance and that he will in fact admit it was his. If not, you may need to seek the advice of a local attorney.

80 in a 45 zone? The cocaine may be the least of your problems although its a felony... Oh sure you didnt know it was there.. one of yer friends just lost it huh? I've been and been around way too many drug usesrs to believe that.. first thing they would be doing is attempting to recover the drugs from YOUR can if they indeed did leave it there... SHEESH!

Your best bet will be rehab, a stiff fine, suspension/revocation of yer DL, community service, and several years probation... and thats if you get real lucky, and have a DAMN good lawyer.. Other wise.. dont pick up the soap in jail/prision

Well good luck on getting someone else to admit it was theirs.

If that person did actually admit it to help you.. I guess you will find out how good of a friend they are eh??

Then the judge 'might' let you off on those charges. No guarantees on that one. Might have to get a lawyer.
You realize that the fact that you obviously hang around people who do cocaine but claim you have never seen cocaine before doesnt sound too convincing.

Other than that you have a pricey speeding ticket most likely.

Get yourself a GOOD lawyer. He could say it was an illegal search, what was he looking for? Did he have cause?
As it stands, your car, your coke.
If your friend takes the heat that would be great, but what are the odds?
Get yourself a really good lawyer. Start planning your defense, if you don't do drugs who can stand in a court of law and swear to that?
Were you charged with possession?

more than likely you are gonna get screwed no matter what. as the driver of the vehicle you are responsible for what is in the vehicle, that includes what your passenger's have too. you possibly could help yourself by going back to the police, telling them you know who it belonged to and try to do a pretext phone call with them to the person who you claim it belonged to. talk to them about it, they will know what you are speaking of. beyond getting that confession via a pretext call, you are going to take your lumps.

depending on where you live if there is a treatment program for first offenders, walk in plead guilty ask for the first offender program, complete it and then it disappears from your record. speak with an attorney about that first before you do that. however if you talk with an attorney before you offer to do a pretext call for the police, the attorney will tell you not to do the call and it is seriously your only chance of getting the alleged owner to admit ownership.

Consult a lawyer and see if you can get this person to admit it is theirs (probably not going to happen). I dont know what they can do to you because it pretty much depends on the state and the judge presiding over your case. but it is hard if its in your car you basically are responsible that why you have to watch out who you hang out with.

NO. go to court, try and explain to them about the drugs, but I doubt very much they will believe you as almost everyone tells them the stuff is not mine. If you dont have an attorney I definitely would have one for the day I go to court

Keep your friend out, the law says if you're in control of the vehicle you're in control of whats in it, end of story, you need a lawyer & to keep your mouth shut & let them deal with it, odds are if this is a first offense you can get deferred sentencing and have it wiped from your record
