please help?! this guy is my ex's best friend and i could go out with him to get back at my ex but i really dont want to...what do i do? cuz i dont want to hurt him if he asks me out cuz im just like that...so help!

When you say obsessed, do you mean that literally? Because if so I would make sure the boundaries are drawn really clear. Sometimes, you can't be nice - meaning you can't stroke his ego while you let him down gently. That doesn't mean you have to be mean. Just firm. Make sure that he doesn't have any false hopes, or it will just continue.
If he does happen to ask you out, you don't have to explain why you don't want to go out. Just say something like, "Thank you, I'm very flattered but no." It's as simple as that. That way there is no false hope, and no reason to explain anything.
Be polite, and gentle so that he doesn't feel like a complete fool. If you say that you aren't interested now, or try to explain why not, it may make him think that there might be a chance later on.
And remember, you can't please everyone all the time. Don't be so worried about not hurting him that you put yourself into an even more uncomfortable situation.

Tell him you dont want to go out with him cause you dont want to hurt your ex by dating one of his friends. Or just tell him that you are not interested.

do not go out with him just to get back at your ex....
be honest with the guy and tell him that you do not want to get back at your ex you just want to have friends so if you two go out as friends then that is what it is and he will not expect anything more from you.....

If he likes you but the feeling isn't mutual, then tell him so. Leading him on will only make it hurt worse in the end. And as for using him to get back at someone... don't. That'd be really f'd up.

Okay well if you haven't told him in a nice way you should. you should say that you don't like him and you went out with his bestfriend and that's nasty. so just say the truth in a nice way but if that doesn't work than you just are going to have to say it dead up. but be nice and respectful and hopefuly he will understand. okay if anything send me an email if anything happens.bye. i been in the same situtation, just tell him dat u like him alot as a friend but you just came out of a relationship with his bestfriend and it wouldnt seem right..so just be friends but i can introduce u to my girls lol it alwayz workz

pretend that u are already seeing some one.. that could be the easy way... or u can introduce one of ur girlfriend to him and makes him be attracted to her ..
