Jesus didn't respect the Sabbath? Where did you find that at in the bible? And who is claiming that the OT is wrong? Then again - I do believe that anything can be read to mean what you want it to mean and thus justify not doing the obvious.

The old testament is write if you read all of the laws they all make since and Jesus did respect the sabbath look at Matthew 12 where he talks about he is the lord of the sabbath we keep the 10 commandments because without them the world would be screwed up. the laws in the 10 commandments apply today in our laws still for example Thou shall not kill- if you kill someone you go to prison just like back then. if you steal you go to jail and if you commit adultry it will cost you your marriage in the long run. If you lie people won't trust you. and the sabbath day is made for people so they can have a break from things so they won't be so stressed out which a lot of people don't follow but if you do you can see its benefits

The OT were more or less rules for the people that lived before Jesus was born. When Jesus was born, he was sent here to save mankind and in doing this, he had to change some of the rules. The 10 Commandments are the rules that should still be followed simply because they are rules that show respect for other people, their property, their feelings and emotions and the people that they love the most. I think that for the most part, we should strive to follow the 10 commandments because they are a lot like todays laws and they are ethically right.

The OT is not wrong, its a piece of our history. Towards the end of the OT people were not doing things the way God wanted. They werent following all his commands, so that is why Jesus came to die for our sins in the new testament. The ten commandments are still suppose to be taken serious and is just a guideline to live by. In the OT the only way God would forgive someone is by making a sacrifice at the altar. Because God had to look through the perfect blood to cleanse us of our sins, people got greedy and started taking dirty animals to be sacrificed and the blood was no longer perfect, so as loving as God is he brought jesus here to be a perfect sacrifice and through his blood we can now be forgiven and no longer have to make sacrifices at the alter. Jesus didnt necessarily work on the sabbath, he healed people. and Jesus said to the people if your animal fell in the ditch would you not go get it because of the Sabbath? People make too much out of just a few things, we should just be trying to work on ourselves and do the best that we can.

Jesus did respect the Sabbath. Yet, most Christians were not given the customs of the Jewish people.

Christs commandment was Love your neighbor as yourself, and in that you will never break any of the ten commandments. You will not kill, steal, lie, cheat, etc. against someone if you loved them as much as yourself.

It was determined in the New Testament, after disagreement between Paul and Peter, that non-jewish-Christian-converts did not need to be circumcised either. Through Faith Christians have participated and been grafted into the promises and inheritance given by God to Abraham.

The Jewish people were instructed by God to live a certain way, yet they could not live up to this Holy standard. If they could not blood sacrifice of a sufficiently perfect animal was required, typically a lamb, but not always. Jesus came to be the ultimate sacrifice perfectly sufficient for all the sins ever committed, or will be committed.

You will notice a theme throughout the Bible... Increasingly Holy commandments for the flesh, all the way until Jesus. Then with Jesus not only our deeds but even our thoughts were included in the measures of sin. (ex: if you lust after a woman you have committed adultery with ehr in your heart... a man who hateth his brother is a murderer and has no eternal life in him.) So not only treat your neighbor like you love them, actually love them with all you have was Jesus' great commandment.

The OT is the proof that Jesus is who He said He is. 2/3rds of the Bible is prophecy, in the OT it is 2/3rds prophecy about Jesus, read it to strengthen your faith, and see why Jesus is needed. Pay attention to Isaiah 53 for instance (written 700 years before the birth of Christ).

Without the OT proving Jesus is God, the disciples would not have believed Him, and we would not know His name today.

Jesus gave His followers two commandments:

1. Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, all thy soul, all thy mind, and all thy strength.

2. Love thy neighbor as thyself.

One could interpret all of the Ten Commandments to fall under these Two.

Jesus may not have "respected" the Sabboth in that He didn't follow the letter of the Jewish Law. But what good is it to do that and not realize the purpose of the Sabboth was to take time from distractions and focus upon God? Since Jesus focused upon God continually, with every breath, He was keeping the Sabboth holy even as he broke the technical laws about it.

Who says the Old Testament is wrong? If scholars are saying that, what do they know? They're nearly 2000 years after for heaven's sakes. I think the prophets who wrote them are a bit more accurate - y'know?

But yes, in theory, if the old testament was wrong, the 10 commandments would be too.

A) Jesus did respect the sabbath - you can read where he went to the synagogue as was his want. He claimed to be Lord of the Sabbath where mercy trumps law.
b) You question uses the faulty logic of ab majorem ad minorem, supposing you can argue from the whole to the singular.

Jesus spoke of the scriptures as true. He said God's word can't be changed and that he has come to fulfill the scripture.
the 10 commandments are a perfect law to live together.

Who said the O.T is wrong? Jesus observed the Sabbath the way it was intended. It was man's messing with God's word that screwed everything up.The O.T is a schoolmaster telling us"This the only way God will accept you ,perfect and holy",of course no one can be perfect and holy and so we need a Savior who can be perfect and holy for us and that is Jesus. We rely on His grace and Mercy to save us not our own perfection,We Ain't Got It.
