We just had a really cold snap, so yesterday we discovered that my car battery is just a little to old/ run down to work in the cold. I needed to jump the car before and after school to get it started. So last night we got a new battery, put it in, and the car works just fine.

EXEPT that my radio/ casset player/ CD player won't work now. (its all one system.) It just says 'CODE.' I can't find any mention of this in the manual. How do I fix it?

I need to take this car on a long trip in two weeks, and I really don't want it to be silent!

Your radio thinks it was stolen, and shut itself off. It needs a password (CODE). That code should be somewhere in the owners manual. If it isn't then call the car dealer.

This will piss you off. But here is what you have to do. Remove the car radio and on the back you will find a number or some product code. Then you call the manufacturer to get the code number to enter that makes your car radio work again. What they are trying to do is make it not work if your radio is stolen. As far as the car is concerned the radio was stolen, the car doesn't know that the battery was just dead. Honestly it will be easier if you just take it to the dealership and have it re-coded to work. Either way good luck

You have to enter the code that's on the back of your radio. Is it a Honda??

You might also be able to find this code under the carpet in your trunk instead of having to pull your radio out to get it. It may be on the top of the fibreboard that's covering your spare, or it might be on the bottom of that fibreboard.

No you do not have to take out the radio.

The code is written on the sticker you see when you open the driver side door.

If you can't find it, just take the car to a dealership and they will do it for you.

Sounds like an anti-theft device; try the websiter for the brand or the local dealer that sells it.

It needs a re-set code. This is to prevent thieves from stealing your radio. Take it to the dealer and he'll re-set it for you.
