I got these two similar, but incongruent, answers when I suggested that someone who owns a TV while another person can't eat could be considered a sinner.

"Jesus told Judas when Jesus was being anointed with oil that there will always be poor. "

"The Bible said there would always be poor people. Jesus made it clear when Mary annointed Him."

These people obviously want to keep their TV's, but do these statements actually entitle them to it, or are these just sinner-excuses?

Are you not a sinner?

1 John 1:8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.

I can see why Christians would hate you. It's like you're picking at them. It's their fault though, for their holier than thou attitude and the way they actually treat people.
People own TVs because they can. People who can't eat need to go to the doctor to find out why they're not hungry or why they keep losing their appitite.
People going hungry is another story. Those folks need to get out of there. California is the place you ought to be, so load up your truck and move to Beverly.............just don't bring any fruits and vegetables.

Humans naturally tend to try to justify themselves. Me included.

That's why many people are offended by the Bible: It says that we can't justify ourselves. Only Jesus can.

For some reason, all I can think of is "Jesus loves you" while I imagine all the first borns of Egypt dying.
