Both have the 5-lug pattern, but i'm not certain they will fit. I've seen a set on ebay that i want for my truck, but hate to bid and then they not be able to be mounted to my truck. I'm unsure of any other info that might be required to give.

Going to the independent suspension, that's a good question. I'd get on moparts.com and ask.

Dodge Ram 1500 Rims And Tires

They do fit... problem is that the 3rd generation ram's wheels are stock 20s and the 2nd gen (1999) are 16s... but rims with tires already mounted will be fine on the truck.
In the event that they didnt ( tho I have seen MANY older rams with newest generation ram rims), im sure it wouldn't be more complicated than getting some sort of "lug adaptor"

Go to this site and input the tire sizes on the wheels you want and the wheels you have. The bolt pattern is the same, and the 20" figure 1.3 inches taller than the 265/75R16 on my 4x4.
