I am buying one used. I know I can get the 3.5L for around the same price, although I haven't found any in black which is the color I want. What is your opinion of the 2006 Dodge Charger 2.7L? I dont need a lot of speed or power, I just can't wait to get rid of my 2003 Toyota rav4 FOUR CYLINDER. Do you think these cars are reliable? I AM GUARANTEED GOING TO GET A 100K MILE WARRANTY. Thanks, any help is appreciated!

My brother owns one. He bought it last summer. It's a base model, dark blue, and he LOVES it. It runs great, looks great, and even though it's a base model, it still has many great features. My suggestion would be to get one.

The 2.7 is quite underpowered and unrefined. That motor was largely for the rental markets. Any Charger with this motor will be harder to sell down the road too. Depreciation is likely to be on the high side with the smaller motor as well.

As far as reliability, based on Chrysler's previous record, I would say it would not be very reliable. If you have your heart set on one, get the 3.5 V6. I would also avoid a black car. They look good from 10 ft away, but up close you will see every scratch and swirl in the paint.

It would also be a good idea to test a few other cars just so you can see what is out there. These cars ride kinda hard, and are hard to see out of. It would be a shame to get another car that you can't wait to get rid of.

I think that the 2.7 isn't a good idea for such a big sedan. Not enough oomph for the charger, and the hemi is probably too expensive and the mileage isn't as good. I think that the best bang for the buck would have to go to the 3.5 V6. The Charger does look great, though, doesn't it?

my uncle works at dodge so from what i hear is that the 2.7 is slightly sluggish when accelerating and as good as the 3.5 in fuel economy. If you want to research it your self you can go to dodge's site or also a good research site for cars is edmunds.com and read the customer reviews and driving impressions.

Take a look at the link below this message. It is a Consumer Report with owner reviews of the car in question.

Good luck!
